Good training doesn't cost - it actually pays off big for your organization. Custom Internet Services has developed the following four targeted seminars to help your business develop a culture of cybersecurity.  Each of these training sessions can be presented in person or as a webinar.

Cybersecurity Awareness

Network Users are Often the Weakest Link in CybersecurityLet's face it - network users can often be the weakest link in the best cybersecurity plan. But it doesn't have to be that way! By teaching your users to recognize and avoid some of the most basic cybersecurity threats, you are almost guaranteed to increase the security of your network.

Because of the importance of Cybersecurity Awareness user training, Custom Internet Services has developed a 2 hour seminar to help the non-technical computer user understand common threats and how to avoid them. During this fast-paced session, these types of questions will be addressed --

  • Cybersecurity: Is the threat real?
  • Social Engineering and how to recognize it.
  • Wasn't that nice of Microsoft to phone and let me know my computer was infected?
  • The dangers of cat pictures.
  • The high cost of free games.
  • Oh look - coupons!
  • Aren't browser toolbars handy?

This seminar will help the user recognize dangerous internet behavior and understand why it is dangerous both to themselves and to the organization.

Cybersecurity 101

We’ve all seen the headlines – over 1 billion usernames stolen, retail chain has credit card breach, DHS reports hackers infiltrate public utility. And yet because we can’t actually see it, most of us have a hard time understanding the nature of a cyber-threat, comprehending the damage such a threat can really do, and implementing basic cybersecurity controls.

Custom Internet Services has developed this seminar specifically to begin addressing these cyber threat questions in the context of your organization.  In this one day seminar, you and your staff will gain an overview of cyber threats and how you can take initial steps to raise the security of your network.  This six hour seminar will focus on these questions –

  • Cybersecurity: Is the threat real?
  • Social Engineering and how to recognize it.
  • The “First Five Quick Wins” in cybersecurity and how to implement them.
  • The importance of excellent Data Recovery capabilities.
  • Paying big dividends with a cybersecurity awareness program.

This seminar will emphasize practical steps each organization can take and participants will be able to interact and ask questions.  Each participant will leave with a number of cybersecurity resources to help increase the preparedness level within their organization.

As an added bonus, resources will also be provided to help each participant raise the level of cybersecurity preparedness within their own family.

Control System Cybersecurity Basics

Stuxnet, Duqu, Shamoon and Flame – these innocent sounding names all seem fit for a cartoon, yet they represent a clear and present danger to your scada network and the systems it controls.

Custom Internet Services has developed this seminar to address the topic of cyberthreats within your control system network. Building upon the topics covered in CYBERSECURITY 101, this one day seminar will help you and your staff gain an understanding of threats to your control network and how to begin minimizing the risk to your systems. This six hour seminar will focus on these questions —

  • How do ICS networks differ from traditional IT networks? What does that mean from a security perspective?
  • ICS network design for cybersecurity.
  • The ICS attack surface and system hardening.
  • Compensating for protocol deficiencies.
  • Compensating for older field components.
  • Continuous monitoring for cyberthreats.

This seminar will emphasize practical steps each organization can take to harden their control infrastructure.  Participants are encouraged to interact and ask questions. Each participant will leave with a number of cybersecurity resources to help increase the preparedness level within their organization.

Data Protection and Network Recovery Planning

Let’s face it – data gets lost and networks go down.  Whether because of natural disaster, cyber events, malicious employees, equipment failure, malware, or just plain accidental mistakes – data gets lost and networks go down.  And while losing data and network availability can be easy, recovering that data and network availability can be a different story.

But a disaster doesn’t have to be a nightmare if the proper plans are put in place in advance.  Because of the importance of planning to handle data and network disasters, Custom Internet Services has developed this seminar to help you plan and prepare for the inevitable network or data disaster. In this one day seminar, you and your staff will gain an understanding of how to craft and implement a data protection and network recovery plan. This six hour seminar will focus on these issues –

  • Risk analysis and mitigation in the context of data protection and network recovery.
  • Determining what data needs protected, how often, and in what manner.
  • Cloud vs. local backup solutions.
  • Cloud, physical and virtual machine network recovery options.
  • The importance of multiple layers for protection and recovery.
  • The need for management ‘buy in’ of the data protection and network recovery plan.

This seminar will emphasize practical steps each organization can take to protect their data and plan for recovery. Participants are encouraged to interact and ask questions. Each participant will leave with a number of resources to help increase preparedness within their organization.
